Micky Rourke | Matte Paper Art Print
 
Created in 1990, this is a mixed media illustration using Studio Markers, Colour Pencils, and Gouache paints. It has been digitally scanned in high resolution to be printed onto quality thick matte paper.

I’d become interested in Micky Rourke in the late 80s early 90s from watching him in movies like Angel Heart- Rumble Fish and A Prayer for the Dying. I was a huge fan of Alan Parker’s Angel Heart movie and it’s Trevor Jones soundtrack. I had also started to develop a style of using Markers as a base coat for other media during this time. Here, markers set the tonal values and Pencil Crayons, inks and paints are used to build texture, light and shade.
